- Mixing Instructions for Liquid Milk: To make one quart of nonfat milk, mix 3 3/4 cups of cold water with 1 cup instant nonfat dry milk powder. Stir to combine, then drink right away or use in any recipe calling for liquid milk. We recommend using a glass container to mix your instant milk if available. Liquid milk made with instant milk powder will keep in the refrigerator for 5-7 days after mixing when covered tightly.
