Finally found it!
Ever since my kid learned there was a sequel to War for Cybertron, I've been trying to find a copy for the Xbox 360 that wasn't over $100 (the PS3 version was going for $15 in some places). So when I found this one, I grabbed it! It was used, but in great condition. He loved the game and has beaten it many times now.

Great but not Amazing (sadly)
For the record I played War for Cybertron as well, and this is a better game than that by at least 1 star. The problem with this game, is that it's great, but it just fails to go over the top for me. Transformers is and has always been my favorite cartoon and series ever since the G1 days in the 1980s. So for me this game had the potential to be awesome, and it falls short of that... but it's still worth playing. The story is really good. It's basically something like a mishmash of all the dramatic elements of Iacon parts 1,2,3 from G1 rolled together. There are a few really fun levels. There are a couple of levels where I was like, "Why am I doing this?" but for the most part, they all offer something interesting or unique. The best part is, the story is replayable. You unlock guns and perks as you go along, and it would be almost impossible to find everything/unlock everything in one go, so you can play it again on a harder difficulty. There are some cheesy parts though, be warned, but not anywhere on the level of War for Cybertron. That game made me cringe quite a few times (cybertronian slugs? come on with your biological lifeforms, this is Cybertron bro). Hopefully the intern that programmed/storyboarded that part was fired. But there are a few easter eggs to be found (glass gas? that is so random-awesome).The gameplay is righteous. There is very little left to want. (Playing as Bruticus is EXTREMEly fun and awesome). The saddest part possibly, is that there is very little motivation to transform, unless you're on a flying level (which War for Cybertron also suffered badly from). But this game is definitely at the peak of Xbox development, and has levels of detail rivaled only by newer games like Skyrim, etc.The multiplayer, for me, is possibly the most disappointing part of the game, and ends up for me, being the part I spend the most time on usually. This is one area I have to say War for Cybertron really took the cake. In Fall, there are very very few customization options. I know it may seem like you can make your own custom transformer. But you quickly realize that more or less, they all look the same anyway. The worst part is, apart from the visual customizations, there are very few skill/weapon/tactics variations. There is basically one or two builds that are really good, and everyone uses them. This happened in War as well, but to a lesser degree. In fact what made me quit playing multiplayer, is that I noticed the Scout class is the best global tradeoff, and about 50% of people play it because of this (boring). I'm sorry but the really tough "Titan" class should be able to take far more hits than it can. Get caught with your back turned by anything? DEAD. God forbid it hit anything at more than 20m off with it's garbage X12 "Scrapmaker" gun (until you get the accuracy perk at 21 that is). War had far far far more variations and customization that I personally thought made it way better in this arena. Here's the worst part about hte multiplayer, within 2? weeks, Highmoon already found a way to gauge more money out of you, by releasing this super disappointing "expansion" pack, with 1 (count it 1) new robot body, and a few new maps (cool, but not what the game needed, imo). That's weak in my opinion, and I refuse to pay for it. Too little, too soon. For the record, I can be a harsh critic, but I do feel like a lot of my concerns are pretty objective. That being said please remember this is only my opinion and I'm just trying to help prospective buyers. All in all I'd say buy it, but don't expect to still be playing it in a month.

High Moon has "The Touch"
Even though I bought this a few months after it came out, I didn't get around to playing through the whole game until last week when I was on vacation. This review may be late and thus somewhat unnecessary, but I wanted to make up for the fact I had to give Dark of the Moon such a low score. First, if you're not used to shooters where you're being attacked from multiple directions, don't be afraid to play on 'Easy' your first time through. Also, be aware that you will have access to 4 weapons at any one time, 2 in robot mode and 2 in vehicle mode, although Bruticus and Grimlock control a bit differently from the rest. You can also buy power-ups for all of your weapons throughout the game, whenever you come to a Teletraan store. While you can't choose from a small roster of characters in each of the levels like the previous game, each level is custom made for the robot you are controlling at the time. Throughout the game, you'll play as Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Cliffjumper (who's really just a clone of Bumblebee), Jazz, Vortex, Swindle, Bruticus, Soundwave, Megatron, Starscream, Grimlock, Jetfire, and temporarily as Swoop. Backgrounds are beautifully done for what is now a last generation game, and levels are craftfully made. There is always an indicator pointing to the direction you need to go so most of the time you shouldn't be too lost. There are some crevices where your character can get physically stuck in the game, but a lot of times you can transform or use a 'boost' power to 'unstick' your robot. Unfortunately, I came across a couple of places where the game froze up on me, but it could be the fault of my console, although I bought it in 2009 after most of the 'Red Ring' incidents. The best features of the Cybertron games is how respectful there are to the original G1 Transformers, which means you won't see any Michael Bay influences here. But understand even with G1, you had two continuities: the comic and the TV series, which often gave different backgrounds to characters such as the Dinobots. The Cybertron games just try to take or make the best from each of these sources. Most voices sound spot on- such as Perceptor, Grimlock, and Jazz, while some voices just don't fit the character, such as Cliffjumper. Metroplex is a sight to behold, although you never really get to control him directly. But then you never got to control Omega Supreme or Trypticon from War for Cybertron, so it may have been too hard to figure out a way to implement control of such large characters in the game. Playing as Grimlock is loads of fun though, as you work up his fury to transform him into his powerful T-Rex mode. Another fun touch is that at the end of levels, you are often required to race out of the area before time expires. I hope to see further efforts from High Moon, as the latest Rise of the Dark Spark game from another developer is getting pretty bad reviews.

Optimus!!!!!!!!!! but with no Shia LaBeouf.
I don't get much time to play video games anymore, so I really enjoyed how fun and easy this game is to pick up. Upgrades for the weapons, transforming, shooting are all fun and easy to do. The price was hard to beat at around $20 bucks, but this game is probably a couple of years old by now. I didn't play any other games in the line so I couldn't say whether the story was better or worse, but being a FPS, I'm not sure that I came to Transformers for the story line or character arcs.

Online Dissappointment
I am writing this as a true fan of High Moons Studio's game. The original was a day one purchase for me and was a game i truly loved, But the issues regarding its online play severely detracted from the overall experience. In the first game, servers were laggy, took ages to connect and was simply apparent that the matchmaking system sucked. I would say that this all carried over to the sequel if not more. The online experience is horrendously bad from lag, ridiculous matchmaking (constantly makes matches with 6 vs 3), constant loading screens, and just feels like there is a lot less than what the original offered (no coop campaign - only 4 game modes). The experience at best is averaged out by the campaign, which although lacks co-op, its pretty interesting and has the same coolness factor the original had. If they had fixed all the online issues the original had this would have been a great game, but as i look back at the first games experience it seems like they just transitioned those same servers which were terrible and left lag in the game as a feature to show what actual transformers might experience.

Must play if you're a fan of this franchise.
So much better than War for Cybertron. Had an absolute blast with this game. Original voice actors, entertaining plot, very fun gameplay, and gorgeous scenario of Cyberton.
