A beginner's instrument that won't get thrown out later
I more or less agree with everything the people who gave the violin 4 stars are saying; I just don't think it is fair to judge a violin at this price point by professional standards. The violin feels quite light and isn't very loud... But it it has a nice sound and is perfect for learning. It might not be a Strad, but trust me, if you're reading this review, you probably shouldn't be buying a Strad yet... And this kit is as good a place to start as any, and better than many.My only recommendation would be to buy a set of fine tuners to go along with it, since this one only comes with a fine tuner for the E (the thinnest one), which isn't ideal for a beginner.

Nice violin
This was bought as a beginners violin. I am a beginner. As requested through reading reviews I bought fine tuners and installed them as the violin only comes with one. Good value for the money. I know little about these instruments, so to me it sounds good. Very pleased with what I got. Thx

Great beginner violin
Great violin. But the shoulder rest could be better and you have to change the strings for a better quality sound

good product
Product is good and came as described. Am satisfied for the most part of how the product is so far. Could be better if there was more fine tuners in it. Other than that all good.

Excellent beginner violin kit...
Received for unbiased review...This is an entry level violin that sounds very good. Almost everything is included in the kit - Hard Case, extra strings, bow, rosin, shoulder support. It is a traditional style violin with only one fine tune adjusted string. I found that the tuning pegs stick, so it can be a challenge to tune. You will need to get some peg compound to help you with this (the one thing that is a must have that isn't included). The rosin when new, is quite hard on the surface, you may need some very fine grit sandpaper to rough it up to get it started. The strings need time to stretch so you will experience a lot of re-tuning for the first couple days. I'm not a big fan of the colouring that they chose for it. I prefer just a natural wood finish look to my instruments with a clear varnish or a clear stain and varnish. This appears to have had an air brushed darkening striping added to try to give it a more exotic look, and an attempt at a sunburst like style, but I don't think this it works that well. This may have been an attempt to hide any grain anomalies that occurred in the wood that might not be that pleasing to look at. (The colouring is why I reduced a star - but keep in mind that this is marketed as an entry level violin and it still looks quite good from far away and fairly good on camera. - it also did not include any instructions for setting up the bridge or tuning.) I've never taken a violin lesson in my life, so try not to be too critical with my posted video ;-) The video is just a sample of the sound of the open strings. I found that it doesn't sound as muted as another beginner violin I've heard. This seems to sound quite a bit better. I've always wanted to learn to play, so I will be trying it for quite a while.
