My favorite affordable matcha
Absolutely love this matcha! The flavor is smooth, rich, and just the right balance of earthy and fresh without being bitter. It blends beautifully in lattes. For the quality, the price is fantastic—organic, authentic Japanese matcha at an affordable price is a rare find! Definitely my go-to for a daily energy boost.

“Premium” culinary matcha
Generally, if the region a matcha is grown in, and the cultivars used in it are mentioned, the quality is better! This does both! And if the color is a bright green instead of dull and chalky or yellowish, chances are the quality will follow. This is a bright ish green, but not as deep a green as ceremonial, showing some lower, older leaves, instead of all tips, are used. This is much cheaper than most ceremonial matcha, but slightly more expensive or the same per ounce for the most promoted culinary matchas. This matcha is definitely good enough to be used as an “everyday,” unadulterated, water only added, matcha. Slight not bad bitter notes. Grassy and sweet flavors. Mixes wellish, not as well as more expensive stone ground matcha. I’d say this is mostly first harvest, with perhaps some tips of second harvest. Ceremonial is typically all tips of first harvest, and painstakingly stone ground. (In Japan these classifications are not used. In olden days msg was added to nonorganic matches to enhance flavor.)Rishi does sell a ceremonial grade matcha in a tin I am looking forward to try! It is 50% more expensive than this, but still cheap for actual ceremonial grade, but both Rishi and Amazon appear to be out of it, but one hopes, will soon restock with the spring harvest! That said, never drink any matcha on an empty stomach. Savory or sweet food is always served before matcha in formal Japanese tea ceremonies, such as those taught in the Urasenke tradition. This is because full strength matcha, even of excellent quality, can turn your stomach, without anything in it.This matcha comes in a Mylar foil pouch in a can. Matcha degrades from exposure to air and humidity, so squeeze all the air out and tightly wrap with rubber band to keep it out, Keep refrigerated before first use, and when not using. In summer swoop it up as soon as possible after delivery and refrigerate, because heat degrades matcha too!

It's a okay matcha
I've tried a few diffrent matcha powders this one is an okay matcha. It doesn't have a strong flavor. It doesn't have any umami, it's more vegetal tasting. I feel like this is a decent matcha but you do get what you pay for it's not the best tasting but has a nice green color.

Will buy again
I will be buying this more often. For the great quality of matcha the price is cheap. The container size lasts me 2-3 weeks of everyday use. The taste is very creamy, I’ve bought 2 so far and have bought one for my friend

Good for the price everyday matcha, not ceremonial
The color of the powder is slightly dull, but it mixes very well sifted or not. I added a little more extra than usual and use a bit less milk, but it would be better with water bc it’s very mild. The smell is really good, smells fresh and sweet. Overall it’s a solid matcha for the price, but it is not comparable to ceremonial.

Flavorful tea
I have enjoyed this brand of matcha tea, but when I attempted to buy it again, it was out of stock. I was disappointed that I had to find another brand. The packaging makes it a little difficult to get a measuring spoon into the bag to make a serving of the tea.
