An excellent product.
I do travel photography and carry at least 3 different types of cameras on each trip. This implies that I have to carry 3 different types of battery chargers. These chargers, together with the cables and plug adapters take up valuable space. I am looking for a universal charger where one device can charge the 3 different types of camera batteries. I need the universal charger to be robust and reliable but yet compact. As it is an all purpose device, I expect a degradation of performance in the battery charging.• Battery might not be fully charged• Takes longer to charge the batteryI have found the “unbranded” chargers difficult to use – fiddly to make good contact with the battery for satisfactory charging.I tried this universal charger (a black plastic case 10 by 5 by 1.5cm). The contacts are adjusted by handles and the battery is held tight in position by a slider. The device automatically detects the appropriate voltage and polarity. There is a LCD panel which provides information on the charge status: Voltage, % charged, current applied (mAmpH) and the time charged (in hours and minutes).ProsCharging indicator – It provides the number from 0 to 100%. The fully charged battery was checked by placing the battery in the original charger.Accept many types of camera batteries. I have Lumix and Fujifilm X cameras. Could not get to charge the Olympus camera battery. It is small and compact. Occupies less space than the 3 chargers combined. It uses power from a USB cable. I carry a multiple USB port to charge other equipment. Therefore, there is no need for extra equipment.ConsHave not found any yet. Please refer to the photographs1. Charging a Lumix battery from 0 to 100%.I took the battery from the camera and fitted it in the charger. This battery was “flat” as the camera could not operate. The readout gave a 0% reading. Within a minute when I took the picture, it was reading 25%. The battery was fully charged at 100% after 2 hours and 14 minutes. Quite a reasonable time when charging a battery from 0%. I checked this battery with the original charger, it confirmed that the battery was fully charged. The original charger would have taken about 2hrs to full charge the battery.2. Thoughtful designThe battery charger is essential for the continued use of the cameras in a travel photo shoot. I cannot afford any malfunction or damage to this essential piece of equipment. There are 2 external contacts that make contact to charge the battery. Therefore, the metal contacts are essential to the operation of this battery charger. Should they be deformed or damaged, this charger would not work. These metal contacts can be moved with the handles below. When the charger is not in use, these contacts can be moved under the slider for protection. This minimises the chances of potential damage.Camcaddy2 - Compact Universal Camera battery charger. Exactly what I have been looking for. I would certainly recommend it as a Universal camera battery charger.

Handy universal charger
Love this! I got a digital camera from 2007 with a really awkward battery to find a charger that wouldn’t burn a hole in my pocket. This charger was cheap and good quality, displays battery percentage on a screen so there’s no guessing and charges quickly :) happy out with it

The best on the market, but still bears improvement
I bought this to charge the swappable batteries on my Samsung XcoverPro phone.(1) It works(2) Only after I took a screwdriver to it and removed the slider, as it will otherwise only take batteries up to about 50mm wide, and the Samsung batteries are 62mm wide(3) Also it only recharges the batteries up to what the phone says is 86%, although this device says 100%I'm giving it 4-stars as it's easily the best device on the market I can find to solve this problem, and with a screwdriver (once) and elastic band (every time) it does recharge my batteries most of the way, safely and reliably - which nothing else will do (a much cheaper device available online still needed the slider removing, and only charges up to about 50%).So, as Samsung for some reason don't provide a charger for their own batteries, apart from the phone itself, - this is the best thing I can find, and I'm very grateful for it. But, could be better.

Avoid this product
This melted the first battery I tried it with - unattended, it may have cause a fire. I would suggest that this product is dangerous and should not be for sale.

Tiny and lightweight - the perfect travelling charger
This charger is tiny and lightweight and it is the perfect travelling companion if you need to bring different types of batteries.I will not describe it in detail, since this already has been done in other reviews. The fact than it can be powered via USB (it uses a USB micro cable - the same type of cable that is used for Android phones) means that is does not need a separate power supply. This saves a lot of space and weight in my suitcase!I have been using it with 2 types of batteries so far: Nikon EN-EL3e (for my SLR camera) and Canon NB-6L (for my compact camera) and it works just fine. The only disadvantage of the charger getting power via USB is that the limited power makes this charger a bit slower than the chargers that were included with my cameras, but I knew this when I bought the charger. And, if you are an enthusiast, you usually bring at least an extra battery, right...?

Camcaddy2.
I'm a keen photographer and own quite a few digital camera's, the trouble is that means many different types of charger. In fact I have a whole drawer full of battery chargers I have to sort through every time I want to give something a boost, that's why I decided to get the Camcaddy2. Maybe I'm just lucky but it seems to charge all of my camera batteries, and by all I'm talking dozens of different sizes, brands and voltages no problem with any of them. The manufacturers mention it will not work with batteries that communicate with the camera, and I assume that's the kind of battery that must be brand specific to the camera. I can see no reason why any camera battery shouldn't work in this charger be it intelligent or otherwise. At first I tried using a simple 12v power supply to power the device and did notice the supply got fairly hot, that would indicate a fair bit of current is being drawn. I then decided to use an old laptop power supply which had more than enough power being switched mode and that kept quite cool. Some camera batteries will draw several hundred mA of current when on charge so a small plug-in wall power supply wouldn't be man enough for the job.For that reason I refrained from using USB and am sticking to a decent power source just in case. Overall a very handy bit of kit, well recommended.

Great universal charger
This is a great universal charger. It works with most types of camera batteries, is easy to use, and even gives the charging information on the screen.
